Mohamed A. Hamza, MD, PhD is a fellowship-trained neuro-oncologist who focuses on the medical management of primary brain and spine tumors, as well as metastatic disease to the brain, the spine and the leptomeningeal layers that cover the brain and the spine. He diagnoses and treats patients with systemic cancer who have neurological problems either related to the cancers they have or other neurological problems.
Dr. Hamza completed his fellowship in neuro-oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, which is one of the top cancer institute in the country. He obtained a PhD in neuroscience and completed his neurology residency at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the State University of New York in Buffalo. He attended Suez Canal University in Egypt for medical school where he earned his medical doctorate degree.
As a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the society of Neuro-Oncology, as well as the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Hamza also holds the Neurology Certification of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Hamza is committed to research and recently participated in clinical trials for experimental treatment of malignant glioma. With his experience and training in the best cancer facility in the country, Dr. Hamza’s priority lies in providing the highest standard of comprehensive, patient-focused care as he partners with his neurology and oncology colleagues.
