Vendor Vaccine Mandate FAQ
- Who must be vaccinated?
-
In addition to associates and providers, vendor/contractors must be vaccinated. This group includes vendors, sales/supplier representatives, consultants, contractors, contingent employees and other “non-employee” individuals who enter OhioHealth facilities now or may in the future. This mandate also applies to volunteers.
- Does the requirement apply to temporary workers and contractors?
-
Yes.
- Why is OhioHealth mandating the COVID-19 vaccine?
-
The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS) mandated vaccine compliance for health systems. As a healthcare system, OhioHealth must comply with these federal regulations.
OhioHealth has implemented vaccine compliance for associates, providers, volunteers and now vendors, by April 14.
- What is the deadline?
-
Full vaccination and attestation are required by April 14, 2022.
- What if the vendor did not receive the vaccine notice from OhioHealth?
-
The written notice that was sent to vendors is posted on eSource and can be shared with your vendor partner.
- What does fully vaccinated mean?
-
To be fully vaccinated you must have had two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
- Can vendor access to OhioHealth facilities be restricted if they do not comply with this mandate?
-
Yes. Vendor access may be withheld or terminated if the vendor is not fully vaccinated or have not received a medical or religious exemption through their employer.
- Where can a vendor receive a COVID-19 vaccine?
-
Visit the OhioHealth Covid-19 Vaccine Scheduling page or vaccine.gov for vaccination locations.
- Does the vendor have to get the COVID-19 vaccine from OhioHealth?
-
No. There are numerous locations where they can obtain a vaccine.
- If a vendor had COVID-19, are they still required to receive the vaccine?
-
Yes.
- What if the vendor has a medical or religious reason for not getting vaccinated?
-
If their employer allows for COVID-19 vaccine exemptions, this will be documented as compliant.
- Does it matter which vaccine a vendor receives (Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J)?
-
No. However, the vendor must obtain two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one J&J.
- Where does a vendor submit proof of vaccination?
-
Individual vendors who are registered in the Vendormate credentialing system, will attest to their vaccine status through Vendormate. Vendors who are not registered in Vendormate will attest as an organization, on behalf of their associates and subcontractors. COVID-19 Vaccine Attestation Form
- What if the vendor is not listed on the spreadsheet in eManager before the April 14 deadline?
-
If the vendor is not listed that means they are not compliant with the vaccine mandate. You must reach out to them and determine plans for compliance. Remind the vendor that access to OhioHealth facilities will not be approved.
- What if the vendor is not listed on the spreadsheet on eManager after the April 14 deadline?
-
Contact the vendor to let them know that their privileges to access OhioHealth facilities will be removed as of April 15. Encourage them to respond to the attestation immediately.
