Overview of our policies

  • Comprehensive charity care: We offer free care for individuals and families earning less than 200% of the federal poverty level.
  • Sliding scale fees: Substantially discounted care is available for those earning between 200% and 400% of the federal poverty level.
  • Hardship policy: For patients with unique circumstances who don’t qualify for charity care, we provide additional support.
  • Interest-free loans: OhioHealth offers interest-free loans for up to one year to assist patients. We also provide an uninsured discount policy for those who do not qualify for charity care.

What information do I need to provide to apply?

You need to provide your name, address, phone number and account number (if available). Additionally, include the names, ages and relationships of immediate family members living in your home, along with their sources of income or employer names, hire/start dates, and income for the past 3 and 12 months.

Based on income level, eligible patients can receive discounts ranging from 65% to 100% off their responsibility for the care received.

Will I be charged more than insured patients if I qualify for OhioHealth’s Financial Assistance Program?

No, patients determined to be eligible for assistance under the Financial Assistance Program will not be charged more than the amounts billed by the hospital for care provided to insured patients.
