The OhioHealth Pastoral Care Program
Providing for your emotional and spiritual needs is an integral part of meeting your healthcare needs.
In our OhioHealth facilities, we have trained chaplains who are committed to providing spiritual care by helping patients utilize their own faith tradition to promote healing.
Body, Mind and Spirit
As a faith-based healthcare system, OhioHealth cares for the whole person – body, mind and spirit. Based on the values of our Protestant Christian founders, we try to reach out to people of all faiths to fulfill our mission to improve the health of those we serve.
The OhioHealth Pastoral Care program plays an important role in our mission. Trained chaplains at OhioHealth hospitals and facilities provide spiritual and emotional support by helping patients use their own faith tradition to promote healing. Our chaplains can be a source of support, guidance, companionship and hope during a hospital journey.
Our Values Are Based on Faith
Our faith-based connection is through the West Ohio Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. The conference works closely with OhioHealth leadership to guide our values and determine the services we offer.
OhioHealth strives to follow the example of its Protestant Christian founders and the founder of Methodism, John Wesley. In his ministry, Wesley encouraged not only spiritual health, but physical health through proper diet and exercise. OhioHealth is grounded in this tradition, as well as reaching out to people of all faiths, to fulfill our mission.
