Gubert Tan, MD, is a neurologist with fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology, EMG and human motor control and board certifications in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, vascular neurology and sleep medicine.
Dr. Tan provides diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and more. He also provides neurodiagnostic testing, including electromyography, electroencephalography, and evoked potentials, in order to study the central and peripheral nervous system to determine a diagnosis.
He has been practicing in Mansfield for more than 15 years. He joined the late Joseph E. Stolfi, MD, who founded Mansfield Neurology, Inc. and Stephen Hill, MD. Now part of OhioHealth Neurological Physicians, Dr. Tan and Dr. Hill continue to provide neurology care at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital and their office nearby. Dr. Tan is also the associate medical director of the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit at the hospital.
Dr. Tan obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, where he also completed an internship. He completed a second internship in internal medicine through Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, before going to the University of Illinois at Chicago to complete a neurology residency. Dr. Tan completed his fellowships at the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Strong Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Tan is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Vascular Neurology and Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Ohio State Medical Association, American Epilepsy Society, and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Tan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
