Meet Cherie Smith, PhD, RN, NEA-BC
President, Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital
Dr. Cherie Smith serves as the President at Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital, having previously served as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services.
She holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, a master’s degree in health care administration from Wayland Baptist University, Texas, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from South Carolina State University. With over 35 years in various leadership roles, Cherie has extensive experience managing clinical programs, operations, nursing practices, and patient care services.
Prior to joining OhioHealth in January 2022, Cherie served as the Assistant Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services at Iredell Health System in Statesville, North Carolina. Her previous roles also include executive director of nursing at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina and director over multiple inpatient and outpatient departments at Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California.
Cherie began her career in the United States Air Force, where she held numerous nursing and leadership roles. She is extremely proud of her 24-year military career and credits core values continue to influence her both personally and professionally. Cherie continues to be passionately committed to fostering collaborative, family-oriented teams where people empower each other’s growth and personal development.
