The OhioHealth Stroke Network is a "hub and spoke" model, which maximizes efficiency in stroke care, while minimizing transfer of a stroke patient to another hospital for advanced care, unless it’s absolutely needed.
When a stroke patient is identified at a partner hospital, such as East Ohio Regional Hospital, the Stroke Network is activated and an on-call stroke specialist from an OhioHealth hospital is available within minutes. East Ohio Regional Hospital partners with the OhioHealth Stroke Network to help diagnose stroke patients, as well as develop a treatment plan.
